So its been a while since my last post I came back to San Diego for about a month where I worked a bit and surfed and have been getting a couple of photos. While back I met a girl named Ashley on the train who after talking to me for a while wanted to write an article about my life and pro surfing. I am really interested to see how it turned out because I am going to try and send it in to Surfer or Surfing Magazine and see if they would want to run the story and send them a couple of pics. I also met up with a friend Dan who works with VERB TV and talked about different projects we are working on. I told him about possible big wave filming projects I might have going on in the future and when he comes over here we are going to try and do an interview cause VERB TV wants to do a spotlight highlighting myself and "Going Pro" the film. I am now back in Kihei, Maui where the surf has been a little fickle but the weather has been amazing. I'll be here for about ten more days and might make it over to Oahu but not sure yet. Looking forward to the new year this one has been great. 10-9-2010- The man with the Lazy eye took our big beautiful beast away, but not without paying the fee of course. So it’s been quite a while since my last update and a lot has happened. We traveled down to Portugal and competed in the Figueira De Foz 6 start WQS contest where eric and I both lost in the first round again, but we both won some money as well, pretty much just for showing up, but we were stoked on it. I was pretty disappointed in my performance cause my heat was not stacked and I could have made it. Because of my bad showing I have decided it would be best not to go to Hawaii this winter to do the sunset contest because I don’t think it would be worth it for me at this point in time. After the contest we headed down south, we went out for a night in Lisbon and then surfed in Ericeira and Peniche where we got some good waves and good times, other then the fact that I partly dislocated my shoulder and Eric almost got knocked out from hitting the sand. We then continued up to France and visited my father’s grave in Les Vans and then stayed at my aunt and Uncles house in Lyon. On the way a man stopped us who was interested in the RV and we had agreed that we would go to Nice and sell him the RV in a couple of days.

After dropping some things off in Lyon, the Quik Pro was our next stop and the guys were ripping and the waves were pumping. We went out for Eric’s last three nights and had some rad times, but ended up paying for it later. We also added a third sled dog racer to the team named Mike he came to Hossegor from of all places, Norway, where he told us their were no waves but the supermodels “flocked like the salmon of Capistrano”. And from the looks of his photos he was an honest man. He stayed with us for about a week and was able to lend a helping hand when our starter stopped starting and we commenced the Little Miss Sunshine portion of the trip, where we had to push start and park on hills every time we wanted to go somewhere with Delilah. Eric left just a day too soon cause the next morning the waves were “fully pumping mate”.

Mike and I held down the RV and watched Mick win the Quik Pro in really big, mixed up Hossegor. The week’s shenanigans had taken a toll on me so I took it easy for the remainder of my time in Hossegor. Mike went out one last time and was partying with all the CT guys’ cause the contest had finished that day. I dropped mike off and it was back to one. I just had to take care of a few things before I was going to go to Nice to sell the RV. However as I was about to go to Nice I spoke to the man who wanted to buy it, he was already trying to swindle me and get the price down, which I was not happy about. He told me he would call me that night. So still feeling kind of optimistic that it would work out I left to Toulouse where I was going to drop some of my stuff off with some family friends of my parents and then continue on to Nice if he had called back.

But as I thought about it more that last day in Hossegor I was actually pretty sure that the man was not going to call but I decided I should go and see my family friends anyway and maybe he would call. So I headed to Toulouse and it sure was a good choice.

The guy from Nice never called but Jean-paul told me about a site on the internet called Laboncoin.fr. Which is equivalent to our craigslist and once I put the ad up my phone didn’t stop ringing till the RV was sold. At one point there were two families in Jean-pauls living room who were both trying to buy the RV, one had said they had talked to us first, the other said they had talked to us first. It was a little like Jerry Springer “selling an RV” episode. Anyway the first person that came and saw it was the person we ended up selling it to. He signed the papers, I gave him the key, he gave me the money and then, the man with the lazy eye took our beautiful beast away.

It is sad that Delilah is gone, but it is also a big relief, she caused many good times and many headaches. She averaged about 9.8 double takes per day, but I don’t think it was because of her beauty. So now that she is gone I am back to taking the trains, back to where I started my trip, trains and couchsurfing..

Going to stay in a hostel tonight and then heading down to Portugal maybe to watch the WCT in Peniche and surf, then to Ericeira where there are a couple of couches that I can surf on while I am down there, which I am stoked about. Until next time.
